The Consolation Lakes hike is a step up from the Lakeshore Trail. Follow the path up to the Rockpile, but instead of going all the way up the steps, stay left and head into the forest.
The canoeing is pretty cool - expensive, but it feels like a once in a lifetime type of thing, to be surrounded by the mountains and paddling through the crystal blue water. Only go to Louise when Moraine lake is open. That picture is most likely august/September in Canada. Outdoor planting is best to wait till mothers day, and even then last year I lost most of my garden to a snow/hail storm. It feels surreal to see a place like this in real life. Snowed all day the last 2 days here in Montana. The atmosphere feels serene, the view is breathtaking and the colour is beautiful. Parking is easy to find that early as well. It's quiet, the water is like glass, there are others around but it's not packed like it is at 9am. I think it's probably the best way to see the Lake. The best photo spot at Moraine Lake is to walk up the Rock Pile and climb down a few rocks until you find a satisfactory vintage point to your photos. It's a pain to get up (I am NOT a morning person), but this was absolutely worth it over and over again. We went to watch the sunrise here in August 2020.
